The Trustees are passionate about supporting Buckinghamshire causes and those involved in the Arts and Culture, Medical Science, Social and Environmental spaces.
George Anson
Founder and Trustee
George is co-Founder and Trustee of The ACT, with a particular interest in local social organisations and the arts. In addition to the ACT, George is currently a Trustee of the Heart of Bucks Community Foundation, the Buckinghamshire Historic Churches Trust, and The Lord Fortescue’s Charity. He is also on the Patronato and Steering Committee of the Menorca Preservation Fund, a not-for-profit foundation created to help protect the natural flora, fauna, and marine environment in and around Menorca (a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve).
George was High Sheriff for the County of Buckinghamshire for 2021/22, and is currently a Deputy Lieutenant.
He was previously on the Board of Trustees of Asthma UK from 2015-2019; He was the 2018-20 Chair of Level 20, the gender diversity organisation operating in the private equity industry; he was a member of the Board of Trustees of The Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village, the Surrey-based museum based on the works of G F Watts (2016-2023).
George is married to Kirsty and they have three children (Josceline (36), Douglas (34), and Peter (28)). They have lived in north Buckinghamshire for 35 years, and for the last 25 years in Weedon.
Kirsty Anson
Founder and TrusteeKirsty is co-Founder and Trustee of The ACT and has a long-standing commitment to the arts, heritage and cultural institutions. She studied History of Art at both undergraduate and post-graduate level and has maintained a lifelong and passionate interest in the visual arts. She is a regular supporter of art exhibitions and actively champions the role of cultural institutions in enriching communities and preserving artistic heritage.
Kirsty is a former Trustee of MK Gallery in Milton Keynes, where she was also actively involved in fundraising initiatives. She remains a continuing major supporter of the gallery. She is a major benefactor and ongoing supporter of The Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village in Compton, Surrey.
She is a Patron of the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Gallery, Courtauld Gallery, Wallace Collection, Pallant House Gallery, Watts Gallery, and the Ashmolean Museum.
Kirsty is married to George and has lived with him in north Buckinghamshire for 35 years, where they raised their three children.
Tracey Byard
Secretary and Trustee
Tracey is Secretary and a Trustee of The ACT. She has a broad professional background spanning healthcare, commercial management and property operations.
Tracey began her career as a Registered General Nurse, later specialising in spinal injuries at Stoke Mandeville. She subsequently moved into the medical sector, holding senior roles in orthopaedics and medical technology companies, with international responsibilities across Europe. She has long been actively involved in charitable and community initiatives, including fundraising and voluntary work. Since joining ACT, Tracey has taken an active role in supporting local organisations and representing the Trust at community events.
Tracey is committed to the role charities play in improving the lives of patients, carers and the wider community. She lives in Linslade, Bedfordshire, is married with a grown-up family and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and supporting her local community.
